Who's a free man? You? Me?

Dougal Paver

Dougal Paver, Managing Director

There's a battle raging for our very liberty. It's just that few of us outside the media have noticed, says Dougal Paver.

It's Tuesday evening and our colonial cousins across the pond are voting in their mid-term elections.

The results aren't out yet - I've put the kids to bed but it's not yet midday in Portland, Oregon - so whatever the bookies may say, we don't yet know whether Obama's been given a bloody nose.

Chances are he will, and the Tea Party movement will have played a large part in that.

James Delingpole writes brilliantly here about how and why they our only hope for returning control of Britain to British shores; of checking the power of the state; and returning government to its role as our humble servants (a favourite theme of mine).

I urge you to read it. You may not care, but you should.

And the point? It's good to see that there are still sections of our media alive to the threats to our sovereignty and democracy. Spread the word - it's worked in America, after all.
