That's a good question and very easy for me to
answer, as I was three years old on that day, says Grace Best, from
the junior section of Paver
Smith.
Yes, everybody seemed very happy on my third birthday -
20th January 2009, and though I know I'm obviously
very cute, I did wonder why so many people were cheering.
"It's all about the great hope for the post baby-boomer
generation", said Daddy.
Well that's great, I thought, 'cause I'm no baby now,
I'm a little girl, and this Barack man looks nice and smiling up
there with his own little girls. I didn't understand the bit
about the generation thing though - wouldn't it be right that
we're all now the Obama generation, and we can all just join
in, and we can all have this hope thing too.
I think that's what Mr Barack was saying, but then Mummy asked
if I wanted vanilla or chocolate, and I just said, "Both,
please - why do I need to choose?"
Got to go now, as I don't talk as much as Daddy and his
friends.
I will remember my 3rd birthday though - and I hope
you all will too.
