As something of a fair-weather runner -
albeit very occasional, even when the sun shines - the lighter
evenings and ever so slightly warmer weather means that I am
finding fewer excuses to avoid doing a spot of exercise when I get
home.
But as happy coincidence would have it, now is the perfect time for
me to dust off my trainers and get outside. For in just a few
months, the first ever Liverpool Triathlon will be
taking place.
On the 21st June, more than 1,000 people are expected to
be running, swimming and cycling around the city's iconic
waterfront in aid of their preferred charities, or maybe just for the fun of it (and I have been
assured that there is fun to be had.)
We are encouraging the city's businesses to get involved by
submitting relay teams, whereby one team member cycles, one swims
and one runs. And if you needed any more persuading, there are even
a number of training and advice sessions scheduled, including one
especially for first timers.
Furthermore, now is the time to start getting a beach-body ready
for summer. So, come on, there really is no excuse!
