The Swan Inn was officially
launched on St George's day after an extensive £600,000
refurbishment.
Work on the new pub, located just
off the A59 Northway in Aughton, was completed two weeks ahead of
schedule with the pub welcoming its first guests on Thursday 2
April.
The Swan Inn includes a traditional
pub with a separate multipurpose meeting room and 13 "shabby
chic" styled hotel bedrooms.
Brian Gamble, the general manager of
The Swan Inn, said: "We've known for a long time that
there's real demand for a traditional pub in Aughton and the
surrounding area, so we're pleased to finally being able to
give people what they want.
The Swan site has always been a key
local landmark and we intend to provide a venue that truly realises
the potential of this excellent location. We aim to make it
renowned for its warm open fires, good hearty food and relaxed
surroundings."
The pub serves a number of guest
ales and traditional beers, and the food will be based around home
cooked traditional favourites using locally sourced produce. A
number of Chef's Signature dishes will also be on the menu for
the more adventurous diners.
