North West PR agency, Paver Smith, has appointed Helen Strother as PR director for the Manchester office.

Helen, who has been with Paver Smith since it was formed in 2006, will head the six-strong team where clients include legal services giant DLA Piper, accountants Grant Thornton and the National Lottery.

She moves to Manchester from the agency's Liverpool office where is currently account director for clients including Shell Energy Europe, Bibby Ship Management and APS Group.

Her first task in the new role will be recruiting an account executive and managing the team's move to bigger office space.

Prior to Paver Smith, Helen spent four years at Weber Shandwick's Manchester office followed by IAS B2B.

Helen, 32, said: "Manchester is a city full of opportunity and the success of the office to date is clear proof of that. Our sights are set firmly on continued growth and I'm looking forward to leading a great team."

Dougal Paver, managing director, added: "Our commitment to Manchester grows with Helen's move. She has been with us since the very start of Paver Smith and is imbued in our culture and values. We have no doubt that she'll make a great contribution to developing our Manchester presence."

Meanwhile, Manchester director Denise Mullen moves into a consultancy role having completed her earn-out and the integration of Stripe Communications which Paver Smith acquired in 2008.
