Ladies of Chester are being urged to put their best foot forward in aid of Claire House Children's Hospice.
The charity, which cares for Chester children and their families, is appealing to participants to sign up for the Women's 10K in Sefton Park, Liverpool, on May 9. Claire House has pledged to pay people's registration fee if they raise the minimum sponsorship of £50.
Liverpool Harriers' Vicky Griffiths took to the tracks with mascot Claire Bear at Wavertree Sports Park. The 25-year-old 800m runner, who made her senior international debut in Doha in March, showed Claire Bear some training moves.
Helen Carlson, area fundraiser for Claire House, said: "There are thousands of women taking part in the 10K who may be doing it as a personal challenge, all we ask is that they do it in aid of Claire House. We will pay the registration fee for anyone who can raise at least £50 sponsorship so they can get fit whilst raising money for Claire House."
Vicky added: "The Women's 10K is a fantastic opportunity for women to pull on their running shoes, exercise and raise vital funds for charity."
