Following her English degree Rachel started her career in journalism at the Southport Visiter (correct spelling) followed by its then arch rival the Southport Globe as well as stints on the Daily Post and Echo. A spell abroad beckoned and armed with a new TEFL qualification and a set of thermal underwear, she headed off to the snowy climes of Andorra where she taught English language to business people and children and mastered the finer arts of a decent parallel turn on the country's range of ski resorts.

Returning to start a career in PR, Rachel has worked her way through some of the city's agencies before joining Paver Downes in 1999. The rest, as they say, is history. Expertise include regeneration and property as well as public sector work and communication and change strategies and planning. Rachel is operations director at Paver Smith.

Interests: Interests include skiing, fell walking and cooking though since having baby Charlotte it's more like walking round the park and eating ready meals.
