History was made this week when the first
ever Paver Smith Girls (PSG) football team practice took place on
Monday.
After a successful training session on a lovely sunny evening in
Sefton Park, we are now ready and raring to go and fear no
opposition. Hopes are high and we're definitely a team united.
After all, we had to find something to fill the summer football
void. The Olympics isn't even on to see us through the next few
months.
The media has a similar problem and, in order to keep itself busy,
focuses on the reporting delight that is the football transfer
window.
Newspapers and websites fill space with endless transfer
speculation which, is understandable -
after all, they need to sell papers or drive web traffic
- and the rumours can be exciting,
infuriating and downright ridiculous.
As a Spurs fan, I am perhaps more prone to this than those who
support other clubs. We have a chairman who is happy to pay top
dollar for some pretty average players and so we are linked with
every player in the country who may or may not be looking for a
move.
However, instead of making me addicted to all the news streams,
reports and gossip, I tend to ignore the rumours. Unless it is on
the BBC sport website, it's not worth believing.
There's a long two and a half months ahead but, in the interim,
we'll get our heads down, train hard and make PSG the best team
in Liverpool. Or better than PSB at the very least!

Firstly, as a female footie fan (I support Man City), I'd like to say how refreshing it is to see a woman blogging about footie!
Secondly, although there's no footie on over the next couple of months, I can highly recommend that you give cricket a go. The Twenty20 World Cup starts tomorrow (and is being staged here in England), and then there's the Ashes series in July which is guaranteed to take your mind off all the crazy transfer stories!
