Paver Smith changed to an LLP yesterday - just another way of saying business as usual, explains Dougal Paver.
For the uninitiated, an LLP is a limited liability partnership - broadly similar to a limited company, but for Paver Smith it comes with the added advantage of giving us more scope to elevate senior staff and recognise their contribution to the business.
So four colleagues have been promoted to partner - Tom Taylor, Helen Strother, Chris Hulme and Jane Woodhead - and it's great to have them on board.
Better still, as far as I'm concerned, is that the mantle of managing partner falls on Jon Brown, leaving me free to focus on client relationships and business development. After four and a half years juggling the wider demands of being MD, a change will certainly be as good as a rest.
The changeover involved the LLP buying Paver Smith & Co, giving us a strong balance sheet and allowing us to secure new investment.
Meantime, of course, it's business as usual.
