Paver Smith today signed the government's skills pledge together with training minister David Lammy.

The pledge is a voluntary commitment by company bosses to work with government to upskill its workforce.

Agency MD Dougal Paver met skills minister David Lammy at a private breakfast in Liverpool Cathedral this morning and signed up to the commitment.

"Training and development are key to our competitiveness," said Paver.

"If we don't invest in our team's skills we'll fail. Dead simple, really," he added.
