Rarely lost for words, will the directors of Paver Smith shortly be lost up a mountain?
That's the question after directors Dougal Paver and Martyn Best revealed they aim to conquer Spain's legendary 'lost mountain', the mighty Monte Perdido - so named because it can't be seen from either the French or Spanish side of the Pyrenees until climbers are almost level with its peak.
The pair will be spending four days trekking across the Pyrenees to raise money for Claire House Children's Hospice, the third such time they have done so.
As part of their training regime they have been sampling the tapas at Catalonian restaurant Lunya in Liverpool One. In fact, they are such loyal customers, the eaterie is packing them off with hampers to keep them going.
Dougal said: "This is our third trek to Spain and we're not taking it lightly - it will be four hard days, with 12,000ft of combined ascent and descent each day.
"With all the tapas we've been stocking up on, though, there's a fair chance we'll make it off the lost mountain if our survival skills are called upon."
Dougal and Martyn have raised £30,000 so far on previous treks for Claire House and are hoping to reach a target of £5,000 for their latest challenge, which kicks off on July 3.
Martyn added: "Claire House is a charity close to our hearts and however much we joke about how hard the climb will be, it's nothing compared to the challenges the children there face every day."
