No surprises there, then
Saturday's cup final result probably flattered Everton, says a disappointed Dougal Paver. Still, it was good to be at Wembley again.
You'll have read the match reports by now; possibly even seen the game. No need, therefore, to reprise all that here.
Rather, here are a few observations from our day in the sunshine:
- our dear club is followed by a small minority of ferral idiots who wouldn't know how to behave at a Holy Communion. They were at Wembley, too. Pity.
- Wembley is simply magnificent and it's good to know that we'll be back. We're bound to be: Moyes is building a great team.
- The difference between third and fifth in the league is massive: this was no evenly-matched contest - rather, an act of disciplined containment that fell down on the individual weaknesses of given players.
- The laws around football and alcohol are inconsistent, arbitary, stupid and unfair. Strike a blow against the nanny state on June 4th. Please.
- Wembley's a lot more accessible than people think.
- The quantities of cannabis being smoked around us mean that (a) I'd probably fail the office drug test; and (b) the stewards at Wembley clearly have no sense of smell. Not to mention poor eyesight.
- Everton, like Liverpool, have a long tradition of home made banners (unlike Chelsea). There were some great ones on display at our end, virtually none at t'other.
- Liverpool's banners are wittier than ours, I'm afraid. Probably says something about the sharp humour in Oslo.

You're a little harsh on Everton there.With another couple of forwards available and Arteta, I reckon it would have been close.
By the way, this comments box is a little bit on the tiny side. My goldfish memory doesnt keep track of the drivel I write so its a bugger to keep scrolling back.
