Nicky joined Paver Smith in July 2008 following a career in journalism. After obtaining a post graduate diploma in newspaper journalism at the University of Central Lancashire, Nicky entered the world of newspapers at Mercury Press Agency covering every breaking story across the north west and had work published in a number of nationals.
She was then appointed senior reporter at the Liverpool Echo where she worked for two years, covering everything from high profile inquests to sailing around the UK on HMS Liverpool.
Nicky started work on a national newspaper at the age of 26 when she became a showbiz reporter at Sport Newspapers, editing the daily Up 4 It column.
A life of swanky parties and hob-knobbing with the stars followed for the next four years with many tales to tell including covering the MTV awards all over Europe and partying with Noel Gallagher. It was a hard life but someone had to do it.
Interests: Nicky gets up at the crack of dawn most days to get her gym fix and 'loves' being put through her paces at kick boxing. So it's no surprise that she has a number of fitness-inspired party tricks including attempting one-armed press-ups - usually very poorly.
She also tries to be a domestic goddess when she's not on the latest fad diet - experimenting with risottos and tending to her window boxes.
