Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer was unveiled as the
new 'consultant' at Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust.
The Something for the
Weekend star has created a new range of appetising and
nutritious recipes to enhance hospital food for patients including
new and expectant mums.
Simon, 46, worked with catering
staff and nutritionists to devise the new dishes, which include
tasty favourites such as scouse and fish pie.
The Birkenhead-born chef said:
"I wanted to focus on home comforts. The dishes I have added
to the menu are old favourites and include the likes of scouse and
korma."
Kathryn Thomson, Chief Executive at
the Trust, stressed the importance of providing patients with
better choice.
She said: "At
Liverpool Women's we provide excellent health care for women
and babies and of course this includes nutritious food. Our aim was
to enhance meal times for our patients and we were keen to
work with Simon as a 'local lad' who has an excellent
reputation.
"This has been an exciting and
enlightening project for the Trust and will be carried into the
future to give patients a better experience during their
stay."
