As we approach the weekend, office talk
seems to have turned to Valentine's Day. What people's
grand plans are, what they are buying their other halves, the
little surprises they have planned, or in some cases, how they are
going to get out of it.
Valentine's Day has always been a day that confuses me. For
those in relationships, it baffles me that you have to buy a card
and a present to show you're in love, and for single people it
just a day that reminds you of that very fact.
Walking through Liverpool, love is defiantly in the air, the shop
windows are full of helium balloons, cards and banners reminding
you not to forget the one you love.
But saying all that, in Paver Smith this morning all the women in
the office were greeted by a single red rose on their desk courtesy
of Matthew
Robson, and people say chivalry is dead.
As a single girl I'm not a fan of Valentine's day, but
rather than being bitter about it, I'd rather see the silver
lining, I'm not under any pressure to declare my love, to
surprise anyone or to make grand plans for the weekend, instead me
and my friends are uniting and heading straight to Alma de Cuba, we've
got a date with the
cocktail menu.
Happy Valentine's Day
