Some of the city's best known faces
have signed up as 'business champions' for ACC Liverpool,
home to the BT Convention Centre.
The venue's new affiliate scheme is an initiative which aims to
bring together influential individuals with a passion for the
economic development of the city.
Individuals signed up to the scheme include; Gary Adlen from The
Mersey Partnership, Michael Eakin from the Philharmonic, Neil Pakey
from John Lennon Airport, and Ian Ayre for Liverpool Football Club.
As part of the role, the affiliates will use their business
contacts and experience to attract new visitors to Liverpool,
bringing conferences to the BT Convention Centre.
Bob Prattey, Chief Executive of ACC Liverpool said: "We are
delighted to welcome some of the city's most well known
business and political figures into the ACC Liverpool fold. Between
them they bring a wealth of business experience and sector specific
knowledge which we can use to continue building the venue's
brand and to bring even more high profile and prestigious events
and conferences to the city.
"By working together we can help shape Liverpool as a
conference destination. Business tourism already represents a
significant portion of the city's economy and it is an area
which will continue to grow."
