Liverpool Women's Hospital

Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust provides excellent healthcare for women, babies and their families in a safe, friendly and caring environment. It is one of only two NHS Trusts in the UK dedicated to the care of women and babies.

Its aims include: delivering clinical excellence in all services, ensuring all patients have a positive experience, being the first choice for women and their families and promoting their profile as a premier Teaching Hospital and Centre for Research.

Earlier this year celebrity chef Simon Rimmer enhanced the patient menu by creating a new range of appetising and nutritious recipes for the hospital.

Simon, star of Something for the Weekend, worked with the hospital team including catering staff and nutritionists to devise the new dishes based around the theme of comfort food for patients, including new and expectant mums staying at the hospital.

A recent survey found that the menu has proved a huge hit with patients. More than three quarters of patients have branded the food as excellent. The survey found that 85 per cent rated presentation as excellent or good while 78 per cent rated taste in the same high category.

For quality and variety, 74 per cent of patients reported that this was at an excellent or good standard.
