The sixth annual Livercool awards dinner hosted
by the business club and lobby group Downtown Liverpool in
Business last night saw Paver Smith
account director Chris Hulme scoop
the Marketer of the Year Award.
Other winners included Simon Edwards of Midas
Capital, who won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and Rob
Preston of Alma De Cuba fame,
who claimed the coveted Best Bar/Restaurant Manager award.
A Paver Smith team
provided north west media consultancy services to Midas
during the £1.3bn deal which saw the
fund management group complete a reverse takeover of Iimia Miton
Optimal earlier this year.
The agency has
represented Alma De Cuba
for the past 12 months. The PR team, led by senior account manager Emma Gunby has generated local, national and
international print and broadcast coverage and helped affirm
Alma's status as one
of Europe's coolest venues.
"It was a fantastic night for me personally
and also great to see Rob acknowledged - a very popular winner and
an extremely cool cat," said Chris Hulme.
Over 400 guests attended the DLIB
event at Liverpool's Crowne Plaza Hotel and were entertained by
Liverpool choir Sense of Sound and comedian John Bishop.
DLIB Chairman Frank McKenna said: "The
interest in the awards evening grows year on year and we have been
absolutely delighted with the response to Livercool 08, which
included a record 3,000 plus votes being cast for all
nominees."
