Jon is a former Deputy Editor and Acting Editor of the Liverpool Echo and, in a 15-year career in journalism, worked at a senior level on daily newspapers across the UK. After two years as newspaper publisher Trinity Mirror North West's Head of Multimedia, helping to shape the group's digital publishing strategy, he made the leap into public relations in 2006, setting up Factory Communications. Paver Smith acquired Factory in May 2008.

Jon was appointed Managing Partner of Paver Smith upon its conversion to an LLP.

Interests: Two years wandering round Africa in the 1980s gave Jon a deep lasting love of travel. The Hindu Kush mountains in Pakistan, Mekong River in Vietnam and Namib Desert are his all-time favourite destinations.

Jon is uniquely both a Blue (Carlisle United) and a Red (Liverpool FC & St Helens RLFC) and is a former Great Britain Students rugby league player who still loves the oval-shaped game.
