It's a rap

This year's Glastonbury festival of contemporary performing arts has managed to avoid the controversy generated by last year's choice of headline act: hip hop artiste Jay-Z.

Despite returning to form with a series of guitar-based bands for this weekend's shindig including The Boss and Neil Young at the, a'hem, contemporary festival, organisers appear keen to point out that hip hop remains a key part of the Glasto experience in the early 21st century.

The Eavis family appear to have made their decision and they are clearly sticking to it. Last year was not a mistake and to prove it we are going to have more hip hop than ever before they seem to be saying, slightly defensively.

Still, all will be forgiven if the standard downpour is avoided for a few days. Sunglasses and wellies at the ready.
