Investec

At the heart of the city's business and cultural community

Liverpool boasts the UK’s strongest wealth management sector outside of London - larger than Manchester and Edinburgh – and its importance as a centre of asset management reaches back well over a century.

The global specialist private bank Investec recognised this cluster of excellence when it acquired Rensburg Sheppards in 2010 – a business that has contributed to Liverpool’s economic vitality since 1873.

Paver Smith manages the media relations for the business in the North West, which is based around Investec’s wealth management offices in Liverpool and Manchester.

Chris Hulme, who heads up the campaign at Paver Smith, says: “Given the extraordinary times the financial services industry has worked through, with the Eurozone producing the sort of financial crisis normally only experienced in a time of war, Investec’s team have been sought-after media commenters, helping journalists make sense of the changing dynamics in the market.

"Investec also plays a role in the local community. Its relationship with Liverpool institution the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra has stood the test of time, spanning more than a century. The sponsorship was also extended to 2015 to give The Philharmonic increased financial security and allow it to plan for the future. Our PR campaign has captures this investment and also reflects the work Liverpool and Manchester offices does to support smaller local charities.”
