GoDove Industries

Paver Smith was retained to help market one of the world’s biggest solar panel manufacturing plants.

GoIndustry DoveBid is a global leader in surplus asset management services.

From offices in the Far East, the US, Europe and London they help companies to understand the worth of their assets, advising whether equipment is reusable and, if not, auctioning it on their behalf.

Combining asset, industry and market intelligence with e-commerce technology, GoDove provides services to national and international corporations, financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, used equipment dealers and asset-based lenders.

GoDove was appointed to handle the sale of three, state-of-the-art solar panel manufacturing plants on behalf of Renewable Energy Corporation (REC). With an estimated value of €50m, the sale marked the largest disposal of solar manufacturing plant to date.

The company approached Paver Smith to deliver a highly targeted media relations campaign in order to attract buyers in the desired markets of Europe, Asia and the Far East.

Our approach was to target potential buyers through specialist media platforms serving the renewables, solar power and manufacturing sectors.

A two-pronged strategy focused on leveraging the news value of the sale while using it as a platform for GoDove to comment on an important industry trend – that of the remarkable shift of solar plant manufacturing activity away from Europe towards Asia in what is a relatively immature industry.
Extensive research identified the key online and print media titles which would be targeted. A press release and market commentary were developed and pitched to key journalists and bloggers.

As a result, our client secured media coverage across a range of relevant trade titles across Europe, Asia and the Far East.

Account Director Peter Lappin said “This was a very targeted campaign, aimed at a niche but global sector in particular territories. The great results we achieved were based on intelligent research and good old-fashioned journalistic endeavour and instinct.”
