Paul Heathcote is one of the country's
best loved celebrity chefs and runs a successful portfolio of north
west restaurants including Simply Heathcotes in Liverpool and
Manchester's Spanish fine dining and tapas, Grado.
In addition to his successful Olive Press portfolio
one of Paul's most famous restaurants is celebrity hotspot,
London Road in Alderley Edge, Cheshire. This is frequented on a
weekly basis by a host of footballing stars, WAGS and soap
personalities. It is a particular favourite with Manchester United's Ronaldo who can
often be found dining there with his family.
Paul has many accolades to his name, his most recent from the 2008
Manchester Food & Drink Awards where Grado took home Best Wine
List for its extensive selection of traditional Spanish favourites
and contemporary boutique varieties.
The celebrity chef has also launched a cookware range, which is
available nationwide in Dunelm stores. As the recession hit Paul
has been concentrating much of his efforts on helping families to
continue to eat healthily and still have the means to eat out but
without it costing a fortune. Paul has run a series of "credit
crunch" recipes both in the regional press and on line.
Paul is a keen supporter of ChildLine and runs a cookery class
scheme at his Olive Press restaurants in an effort to encourage
youngsters to both prepare and eat healthily. In addition to this,
for every child's meal which is sold at an Olive Press
restaurant, a donation is made to charity.
Paul also works closely with schools across the north west as part
of his campaign to encourage youngsters to eat healthily. He runs
an Adopt-a-School scheme, which invites youngsters from local
schools to attend classes at their local Olive Press restaurant.
January has seen the launch of Paul's newest venture, the Grill
Room on Winckley Square, Preston.
