Hayes & Finch is the
world's finest manufacturer and supplier of church supplies, including church furnishings,
vestments, communion articles, church candles and altar wines.
Founded in 1882 by William Hayes and
James Finch, the Aintree-based business is owned and managed to
this day by the Finch family.
Hayes & Finch's team of
experts say that churches' historical artefacts, religious
items and furniture have fallen into such a bad state of disrepair
that many been removed from regular use.
In July, Hayes & Finch launched
Project Restore, an initiative designed to bring some of the
country's most significant religious and historical items back
into mainstream use.
Project Restore is asking churches
of all denominations and stately homes across the UK to nominate
items which they feel are worthy of cleaning, repair and renovation
- be it a 100-year-old collection plate, a commemorative plaque or
a credence table.
The project has already received entries
from establishments across the country. Project Restore is open for
nominations until the Wednesday, 30th September 2009.
