Grant Thornton

Grant Thornton

At a national level Grant Thornton UK LLP occupies a fifth place position in the league of UK accountancy firms behind the 'Big Four' - PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Deloitte & Touche and Ernst & Young.

In the Liverpool and Manchester markets the firm faces competition from these firms and a wide range of smaller independent practices.

Grant Thornton is a leading financial and business adviser with 31 offices nationwide. The firm provides assurance, tax and specialist business advice to privately held businesses and public interest entities.

It provides advisory services to a range of clients from multi-nationals and listed businesses to mid-corporates and family businesses.

These services include corporate tax compliance, VAT and Customs Duty, international tax and transfer pricing, remuneration planning for UK and overseas assignments, stamp duty and stamp duty land tax, capital gains tax and transactions tax.

In 2007 the firm merged with smaller rival Robson Rhodes in line with its aims to win larger auditing contracts and grow its income by at least one third by 2010.
