You may or may not be aware that this week -
like many others - is a national awareness week. It is the turn of
Green Office Week.
In recognition of this, the Chief
Exec of the Southport Flower Show, David Jackson, took the somewhat
radical step of turfing his desk.
Southport Flower
Show is setting a trend for other businesses to follow. The
team is proud of its green ethos but decided to take things a step
further in recognition of this special week.
All of the staff at the Southport
Flower Show now has a set of "green guidelines" on their
desks.
These include turning the heating
down and wearing an extra layer instead, having a recycling policy,
not using paper cups and turning off computers overnight and at
weekends.
David said: "This week is a
great opportunity for people to see how easy it is to make small
changes and help preserve the environment."
If that isn't enough to ignite
your inner environmentalist, have a look at the
video which the Liverpool Echo filmed
specially.
