Paver Smith has been appointed by developers Langtree McLean to manage a public consultation and public affairs programme related to its £250m plans to revitalise Liverpool's International Garden Festival site.

The joint venture between Langtree Group plc and David McLean hopes to transform the derelict site and return two thirds of the parkland to public access. It has outline planning permission but the scheme has been called in by the secretary of state for further examination.

"This project comes hard on the heels of a similar assignment for David Wilson Homes and Everton Football Club in relation to their proposals for the club's Bellefield training ground and makes good use of our expertise in public consultation tasks," said agency director Rachel Smith.
