From our Cannes correspondent

Dougal Paver

Dougal Paver, Managing Director

Technology has reached a transformational tipping point, reckons Dougal Paver, as he reports from Dublin airport. Or was it Nice?

Four of the Paver Smith team are in Cannes at various points this week, attending MIPIM, the global real estate and city marketing event.

And amidst the networking, schmoozing, hustling and bubbles myself and Chris Hulme will be posting myriad blogs, news stories and tweets on our own account and those of clients. Right now I'm on my way to Dublin, before catching a shuttle to Nice.

In between stops we'll be whipping out our super-light laptops, nabbing some wi-fi bandwidth and ensuring we don't waste a minute.

We trialled this last year because technology was making it real and easy. Twelve months later it feels like we've made a massive leap forward. I talk in those terms because I'm not particularly technical so I notice advances when they are so strikingly easy - and strikingly useful - that I start using them myself.

So we'll be feeding various trade magazines, regional business publications and daily newspapers with picture stories, blogs, comment articles, opinion pieces, tweets and gossip on the go with an ease that is, frankly, breathtaking.

And all the while we'll also be able to sign on to the company server and access our emails and work files and fill whatever downtime there may be with other forms of productivity.

Another proposal written and sent before you can even mutter the word 'jolly', then.
