Liverpool's Contemporary Urban Centre was opened in the
summer of 2008 by the Novas Scarman Group following the opening of
their London Bridge Bankside centre.
Paver Smith is working with the Contemporary Urban Centre to
re-launch the venue following the redevelopment of the
venue's facilities.
The current restaurant The Jamaica Rooms is
being re-branded Buddleia, named after the
flowering plant which grows on the building. The venue's new
Beer House Pub will stock around 60 different types of beer.
Independent film lovers will be able to experience film listings
free from Hollywood blockbusters and the Contemporary Urban Centre
is hoping to get involved with Liverpool's thriving music scene
by attracting big names artists to perform Venue 1, the 750
capacity music theatre.
Culturally relevant and credible artists will be exhibiting at the
venue as a result of a more focused arts programme. Upcoming
artists include Rich
T who will be doing a live art performance at the re-launch
event on 1st October.
