The last two weeks have seen landmark changes in
British politics, with the first ever live televised leaders'
debates.
Over 10 million people tuned in for
the first debate and saw David Cameron, Gordon Brown and Nick Clegg
take questions from a studio audience.
Nick Clegg was heralded as the winner
the next day, with polls suggesting he has given the Liberal
Democrats a much needed boost in popularity and, crucially,
publicity.
As leader of the third party,
Clegg's views and that of the party he represents often get
sidelined in favour of the two main parties, but the response to
his two appearances shows the importance of having a presence in
the media.
It has got people talking, and the
positive effects are forcing Cameron and Brown to up their
game.
