Five clients appointed Paver Smith in a single day this week, boosting annualised revenues by more than £100,000.
Bibby International Services and the Nationwide Solicitors' Alliance led a roster of businesses retaining the agency. Managing director Dougal Paver says he detects signs of a "flight to quality" as the slowdown makes buyers more choosy.
"The feedback we're getting hints at a caution among clients as to whom they work with. They need PR but the appointment process is lengthening as they work harder at ensuring the fit between them and their agency is right.
"We've seen much more of a focus on our systems and procedures recently," said Paver. "Investors in People status and the consultancy management standard mark us out from the rest in these regards."
After four new starts in recent weeks recruitment of two new account managers is to be stepped up, said operations director Rachel Smith.
