Tree-huggers of the world rise up in triumph: someone's invented an electric Range Rover.
If you forget the eye-watering price tag for a moment ("prices start from £95,000...") this is major news in the Paver household.
First up, the grotty, unwashed little scrote who has keyed my Land Rover twice may, in future, desist.
Second, it means we can still have a motor that combines family practicality with business use and outstanding off-road ability. The latter two are particularly important, given how much time I spend with clients fording salmon rivers and heaving up grouse moors.
Thing is, the politics of envy have found a new front in eco-mentalism. Targeting people who go about their lawful business in cars which, in their view, represent evil, greedy capitalism is considered acceptable.
Well, no it isn't. I last saw keying cars listed under 'criminal damage'.
Anyhow, it's all rather academic as I'm not in the market for a £95,000 motor. Memo to myself: must try harder.
