10 things about... Dougal Paver

Dougal Paver, Managing Director

Who would be your ideal dinner date, past or present?
Michael Heseltine, without a doubt. Absolutely fascinating bloke who tells a good story.

Best example of PR you have seen recently?
Ryanair's response to the BBC's woeful Panorama 'expose'. They ran rings round Panorama's team and reminded us how much this great institution has declined.

If you were an animal, what would you be?
A cat. Food, comfort, sleep and an eye for a good night out.

Which aspect of your career do you enjoy the most?
The constant variety. I spend my days with fascinating people who strive to lead markets and add real value to their customers. Every day's a school day.

If your life story was made into a film, who would play the leading role?
Danny de Vito.

Favourite writer/ columnist?
Clarkson. They just don't like it up 'em.

Print or online?
On-line, increasingly. It's the convenience and the endless archive material at your finger-tips.

What do you like most about Liverpool/ Manchester?
Liverpool is the architectural drama and the humour. Manchester is the sheer buzz of the place: it's jumping, every night.

If you weren't in PR, what would you do?
I'd be a gamekeeper somewhere in the Forest of Bowland, managing a stunning environment and getting lots of free fishing and shooting in.

iPhone or Blackberry?
Blackberry: does everything I need without dazzling me with too many options.
