Why PR?
Quite simply because in early 2006 Dougal asked if I would help him
establish Paver Smith- and off we went and
did it.
Why that and PR, rather than one of many other opportunities -
clearly the always improving quality and exuberance of our team,
which keeps even Dougal and I on our toes; the vibrancy, change and
challenge of growing a thriving agency; and of course the fun and
banter that we have each day.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate - and sadly not the calorie free stuff.
If you could have any super power, what would you choose?
Teleportation - what a great way to miss the queues
Proudest career moment to date
With Paver Smith, it was probably bringing the
Harlem Globetrotters to Liverpool last year. Business-wise it was
probably growing my first business, Plastech Extrusions, though the
last recession and to a successful sale in mid '90's.
Best decision you have ever made
Realising that there's little substitute for
hard work and graft - first learnt prior to Chartered Accountancy
exams, but after A levels ! Spot the difference.
PR or advertising campaign you wish you had come up with?
I always believe that creativity should relate to
the product and give a rousing and memorable connection, so decades
on, the Milky Bar Kid still resonates strongly, which brings us
back to question 2.
Thing you couldn't live without?
Chocolate, beer, wine, kids, Everton, i-phone.
Most unusual thing you've ever done?
Lived in England whilst pretending to be French for
3 weeks - a long time ago, one idyllic summer - don't ask!
What would be your desert island disc?
The Lamb lies down on Broadway - Genesis. It's
a double album, so a minor cheat, but full of great songs and a
flowing tale.
Facebook or Twitter?
Facebook at home, and Twitter at work.
