Paver Smith employs school children. And that, says MD Dougal Paver, is a good thing.
Today sees the arrival of Paver Smith's latest member of staff, David Williams. Bright as a button, full of initiative, keen as mustard - and only fifteen years old.
He joins us for two weeks from Calderstones Comp (that'll be Quarry Bank Grammar to older readers) and will play an important part of updating and managing our delicious archive.
Being good eggs, we'll also ensure he's on photo assignments, attends PRTV shoots and edits and gets to see how press releases are researched, written and distributed.
Why do we bother? Because people bothered with me when I was at school and it made a huge difference to my outlook, ambitions and aspirations - not to mention application back at the school desk.
If you want my opinion, every employer has a duty to do this. Sadly, most don't agree.
