What do you love most about your job?

Working with bright, talented people and supporting clients who originate high quality, exciting projects

How do you like to unwind?

Chatting with friends, ideally over a beer, or making music

What is your favourite film and why?

Alien and Aliens. Loved the creepy ideas, the nightmarish battle for survival and the conviction behind it all.

Favourite headline?

'John McCarthy released'. The journalist kidnapped by Islamic Jihad terrorists in 1986. I followed the story over five years and was convinced that McCarthy was dead and that his girlfriend Jill Morrell was campaigning in vain. Taught me to believe in miracles, though still seems like a Shakespearean tragedy that they didn't make it as a couple

If you found a Genie's lamp, and you were granted one wish, what would it be?

That we lived in a more tolerant society where people could get by without persecuting others because of prejudice, ignorance or greed. A world where ordinary human dignity mattered more than it does today

What is your proudest PS moment to date?

I can't pick one. I get a kick out of achieving coverage, large or small, every time it happens

Biggest adrenaline rush?

Great white shark cage diving in South Africa. I have a photo a shark poking its head into my cage, snapping after loose bait, while I crouched on the bottom

What's caught your eye in the PR world recently?

The way Qantas handled the potential global PR crisis around the explosive failure of an engine on one of its new A380 Super Jumbos. They brushed aside all other operational concerns about cost, legal liability, delays etc and grounded its entire A380 fleet, telling the world it values safety more than anything else. A company that gets the importance of reputation
